A fun feline platformer

Cat Bros is a 2D platformer with obvious winks to the much-loved Super Mario Bros at the levels of both design and gameplay.

In Cat Bros you play a kitty who has to traverse three worlds collecting coins and beating all the bad guys in his path. Unlike the Nintendo classic, in Cat Bros the levels have no final and you have to advance through the worlds using the few-and-far-between checkpoints as your sole point of reference.

In Cat Bros coins have a genuinely important function – they let you unlock up to two extra worlds, complete with new bad guys and new obstacles to get over. These levels are surprisingly expensive and the fact that when you die you lose all your coins means that the real challenge is managing to play them at all.

The controls in Cat Bros are pretty straightforward: you move forward or backward with the arrows and do a double jump with the jump button. Cat Bros is a game without many pretensions that delivers what it promises and has an interesting enough difficulty curve to hold the attention of casual players.
